Clinical Supervision
Guided by professional practice standards
Supervision Available
I provide clinical supervision to Master’s level students seeking practicum placement as well as CRPO Qualifying RP’s and other professionals granted the authority to practice psychotherapy in Ontario. Group supervision will be available in the future.
Mentors and clinical supervisors have been critical to my growth as a therapist and without them my development as a therapist would only be half-realized. Their guidance has also allowed me to grow as a mentor and clinical supervisor to my colleagues and young professionals as well. This is a role I take seriously as I believe we are meant to be lifelong learners and knowledge exchange is a powerful tool for clinicians to expand their clinical knowledge, skill and judgment as well as collaborate and build a network of support with professionals.
I have supported the growth of my profession by participating in quality assurance and peer advisory activities in the CRPO whereby I have extensive knowledge in the clinical codes of ethics, professional practice standards, and legislation applicable to the practice of psychotherapy in Ontario. I have been in the role of clinical supervisor at a multi-service non profit agency and use an integrated model of supervision that ensures safety for clients and supports professional development.
As your clinical supervisor, you can expect that I will treat you with respect and professionalism, support your strengths, and help you learn more about therapeutic theory, skills and techniques. Clinical Supervision with me will be grounded by a strong code of ethics based on following the CRPO’s Codes of Ethics and upholding the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice with clients. Clinical Supervision with me will integrate your clinical skills and knowledge with a focus to enhance safe and effective use of self to ensure safe and ethical practice. Clinical Supervision will help you identify and challenge your attitudes and beliefs about the psychotherapy profession including issues related to psychotherapy traditions, equity and diversity, personal and professional biases, transference, and countertransference. Your practice will be guided by the CRPO’s professional practice standards and you can expect that your knowledge and skills will be developed through a collaborative and goal oriented approach that will enhance your judgement, professionalism, and proficiency in the field.
